Advancing Specification Compliance Through Model-Based Cognition and AI

O/P

As a continuation of the 2024 session on Model-Based Specification Management, this presentation will briefly revisit core concepts and introduce major developments from the past year.

We will highlight progress in AI-assisted specification ingestion, enabling the transformation of unstructured documents into structured, reusable models. A key focus will be Reverse Attribution—the ability to trace engineering outputs directly back to source requirements. This will be demonstrated live.

A new segmented model of the end-to-end compliance process will be introduced, providing clarity on how specification knowledge flows from requirements to validated outcomes. We will also reference an ongoing collaboration with SAE and ASTM to align and standardize digital specification formats.

To ground these concepts in practice, Spirit AeroSystems will present a real-world example showing how model-based requirements interact with engineering activities in a live environment.

The session concludes by introducing the Model-Based Cognition framework, a scalable approach that embeds intelligence across the specification lifecycle and transforms compliance into a dynamic, adaptive process.
