Five Ways to Beat Your 5-Year Model-Based Transformation Plan

Maricopa II (3rd floor)

Digital Transformations that are enabled by model-based practices including definition (MBD) and model-based systems engineering (MBSE), are underway. Many transformations could take 5-10 years to fully execute. The pace of transformation must be accelerated, for leveraging return on investment and improving overall quality and speed to market. Creating the model-based definition, is one step in the transformation, and it is often the entire focus of an organization as the start the overall transformation process. However, an engineering MBD effort on its own, will not drive timely transformations to the model-based enterprise (MBE) across multiple functions that are necessary to achieve the desired DT business results. This presentation will discuss at least 5 ways that can help businesses accelerate their transformation plans. Recommendations discussed include why “Supply Chain Pull” (vs. an “Engineering Push”) is important, how to develop and communicate a vision and roadmap, how to keep business and IT aligned to the strategy, and major elements to consider in an overall DT execution plan.
