Strategic Innovation Manager, Tactical Innovation Implementation Lab (TIIL)

Janice Bryant is a senior Strategic Technology Manager for Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). Her work touches all of NAVSEA to inspire, foster and implement innovations and new technologies. Janice is a plank owner of the Tactical Innovation Implementation Lab (TIIL), and created a $30M RDT&E portfolio for sustainment of Navy assets; examples include robotics, AI solutions, cold spray, and digitization of industrial processes. She leads new technology integration as a principal role specifically related to repair technologies, Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization and OSD Joint Technology Exchange Group (JTEG). Prior to her current position, she worked in the Chief Strategy Office (SEA 00X) for VADM W. Hilarides and numerous positions at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard including Deputy Nuclear Production Manager and Special Projects Manager. She has a Master’s in Public Administration from Indiana University Purdue and BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Wyoming.

An engaging speaker, Janice has been a keynote at the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) All Panel Meeting, the World Future Society conference, Mother Earth News Fair, Athena NW and on many panels. She has a reputation for out of the box thinking, story-telling, practicality and a get’er done attitude.

Raised on a small Iowa farm, Janice now lives with her husband and two sons on a working sheep, hay and cattle farm in Western Washington.
