Steve Dostert holds the position of Senior Technical Fellow for Digital Architecture, Automation, & NC Control within the Production Engineering Functional Office.

He possesses extensive expertise in the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing design processes and systems, as well as programming factory automation equipment.

Prior to his current role, he was a member of the 787 Production Engineering Team, where he played a key role in the development of various processes for the rapid production of NC programs for composite stringer and automated drill and fill machines.

Additionally, he led the programming efforts for the fabrication of the 787 AFT body barrel. Before joining the 787 team, Steve worked in BCA Production Engineering, specializing in Composite Manufacturing processes and systems.

Prior to his work in BCA, he spent 12 years in Boeing IT, where he was involved in the creation and support of Manufacturing CAD/CAM applications, including the development of the first machine-independent Advanced Fiber Placement programming system.
